Tom on "Zomergasten"
On July 31 Tom will be the guest of Zomergasten ("summer guests"), a Dutch TV program on VPRO. He will be interviewed by Connie Palmen, a writer.

DJ Tom
DJ Barman will perform in Brussels this Saturday, he's invited by Écolo, the French-speaking green party, as part of their "Vert Pop" night. Other acts include a.o. DJ's Mark Moore, Funckarma, Isabel, and a live performance by XLover. Tickets 8 euros, party starts at 22:00. www.vertpop.be
Later this month, he'll be in Portugal for 2 DJ sets between June 23 and 25 (location unsaid). Antena 3, a national radio station, is having a contest in order to pick up what bands and DJ's will accompany him. More info here. [thx to José]

Tom+Guy on Canvas
On June 23, 23:00, Canvas TV will rerun "Dit is Belgisch: Dit is Tom Barman en Guy Van Nueten", i.e. Tom and Guy's acoustic set on 11.11.2003 at Bourlaschouwburg in Antwerp. More info here. [thx to gabhq79]

In a recent entry on his Love Substitutes blog, Craig informs us that writing "dEUS" is a "typeface conceit" that he "refuse[s] to further acknowledge".
Tom belt Tom
Thomas from StuBru called Tom on the day 6000 dEUS tickets sold out in little more than 2 hours (last Friday, that is). The interview is online here. As it's in Dutch, Arthur gratefully provided this short summary:
- Next up for dEUS is to make a clip for the new single
- Tom's gonna take a break in July (do some travelling)
- Tom wanted the "Citroen DS" of spaceships, hence the Don Lawrence artwork of the spaceship
- Steph (in the background) says the new album is "eclectic"
- Tom says the new album is a step forward soundwise
- Everybody in the band is anxious the start touring

As the two gigs at the AB sold out in less than 2 hours (which means one ticket was sold every 1,5 second) - surprise! there's a third gig on October 13! Order here.

This is one MAJOR news update on www.deus.be!
1 - the new album will be released on September 12. It still doesn't have an official title ("Stop/Start Nature" was announced on April 1, but disappeared from deus.be soon), but Arthur added a 'sample' for the cover artwork in the discography section. Playful and colourful, I like that.
2 - loads of Autumn tour dates in France (15!) and The Netherlands (6), and just two in Belgium. The tour kicks off on September 21 in Thionville, 2 weeks after a try-out at Patronaat, a new venue in Haarlem. Many more dates for Europe and 'other territories' will be announced later. Presales for the Ancienne Belgique gigs (October 11 and 12) start TODAY AT 11 - click here.
